As well as setting two forest fires by accident, and burning his hand by stumbling into a fire; hallucinating his friends giving him advice....

He was found by a bounty hunter, who then never got paid for finding him, because the bounty was to find his dead body, not the "barely alive" Everts...

Yet this chap went on to live to his eighties, and at the age of 73 married a young woman fifty years his junior!
